NIDA Mfumo wa Kujua Kilipo Kitambulisho Chako NIDA WHERE IS YOUR ID

The National Identification Authority (NIDA) has launched a new digital system that enables a citizen to know where his ID is located in the District where he registered. The system is specific to all citizens who have registered and have not yet collected their IDs at the District NIDA Offices. This system has come after NIDA launched the exercise of distributing IDs to the public, the exercise was launched nationally on October 12, 2023 in the Mara region by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Engineer Hamad Masauni (Mb).

The exercise of distributing IDs to the public in one lump sum is expected to be concluded in March, 2024 where everyone who registered will have received his ID. This service to find out where the ID is is available through the Authority’s website www.nida.go.tz and then click on the place where the National ID is written followed by where it is written Know where the ID is, or by opening the enabling link

http://vitambulisho.nida.go.tz and then you will select the Region you registered, you will select the District you registered and finally you will select the name of the Village or Street you registered and check your name on the list if it is not there you will have to go to the District NIDA Office when you registered to find out what challenges there are in your application.

“The goal of starting this system is to make it easier to access services and make it easier for citizens to know where their ID is without coming to our offices. I suggest to the citizens to take their IDs on time at the Local/Village Government Offices they have registered within the scheduled time also to get the cooperation of all the stakeholders involved in this exercise” Geofrey Tengeneza, Head of the Communications Division NIDA. Until now, NIDA has received a total of 24,495,804 applications from people who need a National Identity Card, the total number of National Identity Cards that have been generated so far is 20,786,171, the number of IDs that have been generated is 19,370,666, the total number of IDs that have been distributed is 17,161,600 and the IDs that have been taken are 12,837,52 3 .

On the other hand, NIDA has already launched online registration where the applicant must enter the link https://eonline.nida.go.tz and then follow the instructions. Another service available through the Internet is the service to check the National Identity number where the citizen opens the link https://services.nida.go.tz/nidportal/get_nin.aspx and then fills in his information correctly and clicks send.
